High-performance lighting across multiple pitches
Munster Technological University required a high-performance, future-proof lighting solution to support training, fixtures, and intensive daily use across multiple pitches within their sports campus. The brief demanded exceptional lighting quality, high levels of uniformity, and absolute reliability, while ensuring each pitch achieved performance levels appropriate to its intended use. Delivering consistent results across a complex, multi-pitch environment was a critical requirement of the project.
Bespoke multi-pitch lighting system
Indigo Sports Solutions was appointed to deliver a bespoke, multi-pitch lighting installation tailored precisely to MTU’s operational and performance needs. Our lighting engineers developed individual lighting designs for each pitch, combining advanced optical control with high-output LED technology to achieve outstanding results.
On the stadium pitch, Indigo installed a high-performance lighting system comprising of 28 Thorn luminaires. This carefully engineered configuration was designed to meet demanding performance criteria, delivering an impressive average illuminance of 400 lux with a uniformity of 0.7.
On a second pitch, a total of 18 Thorn luminaires were installed, delivering a robust and efficient solution aligned with the pitch’s usage requirements. This system achieved an average of 2350 lux with a uniformity of 0.7, ensuring excellent light quality, reduced glare, and uniform coverage across the entire playing surface.
All works were delivered as part of a complete turnkey solution, including detailed lighting design, professional installation, precision aiming, and final commissioning with comprehensive lux level testing to verify performance.
