A 14-day race against kick-off
In early 2025, Bray Wanderers FC approached Indigo Sports Solutions with an urgent challenge. With their first home game of the season scheduled for Friday 14th March, the club needed a full lighting upgrade at the Carlisle Grounds to comply with League of Ireland standards – and they needed it fast.
The existing floodlighting system was no longer fit for purpose, falling short of both visibility and compliance requirements. Alongside pitch lighting, the club also sought improved illumination across their car park and general outdoor areas to enhance safety for players, supporters, and staff. With only two weeks until kick-off, there was no room for delay. The project had to be delivered within a 14-day window from order to commissioning, and with official approval from the FAI (Football Association of Ireland).
Turnkey delivery in record time
Rising to the challenge, Indigo Sports Solutions designed and delivered a complete turnkey lighting solution. Our team immediately got to work removing the outdated floodlighting infrastructure and replacing it with our cutting-edge LED lighting system, designed to deliver optimal light performance, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability.
As part of the installation, we also upgraded the car park lighting to improve safety for supporters arriving and leaving during evening fixtures. Our team conducted thorough on-site testing, alignment, and final commissioning, ensuring the system not only met but exceeded the league’s technical standards.
In just 14 days, the entire system was designed, supplied, installed, tested, and fully operational – just in time for Bray Wanderers’ first home match under lights.
A pitch transformed in 14 days
Crystal-clear visibility across the full playing surface
Professional-grade lighting performance
Full FAI compliance achieved
The outcome was a dramatic transformation of the Carlisle Grounds. The new pitch lighting system delivered an impressive 585 average lux with a uniformity rating of 0.82, offering players crystal-clear visibility across the full playing surface and delivering a more professional viewing experience for supporters. The car park and surrounding areas are now safer and more accessible.
The installation not only received full FAI sign-off, but also positions the club for future success, with a modern, energy-efficient lighting system that reduces operational costs and environmental impact.
“We set Mark and his team a serious challenge and they came through with flying colours. Great interaction all the way through the project, a hectic few weeks but well worth it.”
